Drawing Salve
Made with Plantain, Jewelweed, Activated Charcoal and Calcium Bentonite Clay. We always keep this one on hand in summer! Plantain and Jewelweed can help soothe bug bites, poison ivy itchiness, and hot conditions from bee stings while reducing redness, swelling, and pain. Research suggests it supports wound healing, is antibacterial and germicidal and contains allantoin which can encourage cell growth.
The activated charcoal helps to draw out toxins and other things that don’t belong in the body such as splinters, bee stingers, bug venom, toxins from poison ivy, summac and oak, and toxins in the body that are causing rashes.
Bentonite clay is said to be detoxifying. It binds and dries out your rashes while pulling out the toxins. For example, Bentonite clay may bind to the urushiol (the oil that poison ivy plants produce that cause allergic reactions) and draw it out. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties may help your skin heal.
