Bug Bite Salve
Made with Plantain. We always keep this one on hand in summer! Plantain can help soothe bug bites, poison ivy itchiness, and hot conditions from bee stings while reducing redness, swelling, and pain. Research suggests it supports wound healing, is antibacterial and germicidal and contains allantoin which can encourage cell growth.
Plantain is also helpful as topical use for skin inflammations such as dermatitis.
The herbs in this salve are grown and foraged on our homestead, dried and then infused in oils for weeks so the oil will soak up all those herbal benefits. The mixture is then strained and mixed with beeswax to create this salve.
